Licensed Professional Counselor Intern
(Supervised By Paul Myers)
Carolyn Allen
I have a passion for helping individuals and couples discover their inner strengths while successfully navigating life’s challenges. I specialize in providing evidence-based, compassionate therapy to support clients in areas such as relationship issues, anxiety, trauma, grief, and personal growth.
I believe that every person’s journey is unique, and my approach to therapy reflects that. I will assist you in creating an accepting, non-judgmental, and co-collaborative space while working to explore your feelings, stressors, and goals. I take an integrative approach, which includes training in Relationships and Marriage, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Relief Therapy (MBSR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Talk Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy, allowing me to tailor to your needs, empowering you to build resilience and find meaningful results.
With a background in fine art, I offer a creative approach to therapy in the office or online and am committed to making mental health assistance convenient and accessible. Whether you are seeking healing, clarity, or simply a place to process life’s challenges, I’m here to collaborate and walk with you. When I’m not counseling, I enjoy the outdoors, spending time with family, traveling, gardening, reading, and painting.
I look forward to assisting you in finding your path to wholeness and well-being. Please contact me via text or email to set an appointment: Carolyn Allen, 972-317-0001, carolynallen@intentional-counseling.com. Please leave a phone number, date of birth, and email address. What inspired you to become a counselor?
I’ve always been drawn to helping individuals and couples find strength while navigating life. My background in both psychology and fine art shaped my passion for blending creativity, empathy, and evidence-based practices. Becoming a counselor felt like the perfect way to support individuals and couples in healing, growing, and reconnecting with what matters most.
-
How would you describe your counseling services?
I believe that every client brings their own story, strengths, and goals to therapy, so I tailor sessions using a blend of CBT, DBT, MBSR, trauma-focused work, talk therapy, and relationship counseling. I aim to create a space that is accepting and nonjudgmental, where you feel safe to explore your feelings, process stress, and move toward meaningful change.
-
Who would benefit most from working with you?
Clients who are looking for a compassionate partner in their healing journey tend to connect well with my approach. I enjoy providing counseling services for individuals and couples navigating relational stress, trauma recovery, grief, or anxiety. Those who appreciate a blend of structure and creativity often find our work especially impactful.
-
What mental health concerns do you most enjoy helping clients work through?
I am particularly passionate about helping clients heal from trauma and grief, strengthen their relationships, and work through anxiety and stress. Supporting couples as they navigate communication, connection, and conflict is also deeply rewarding for me.
-
What do you hope clients take away from their time in counseling with you?
I hope clients leave our sessions feeling supported, empowered, and more connected to themselves. I want clients to walk away with a deeper understanding of their emotions, renewed strength in their relationships, and a clearer path toward wholeness and wellbeing.
